How to Activate Pro

Follow these 4 simple steps to install the plugin and unlock all premium physics and effects.

Step 1: Download the Pro Plugin

After purchasing, check your email for the receipt from Freemius. Click the secure download link to save the cursorcraft-cursor-builder-for-elementor-pro.zip file to your computer. You can also download it from your Customer Dashboard.

Step 2: Install via WordPress

Ensure the Free version is installed. Go to your WordPress Dashboard → Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin. Choose the .zip file and click Install Now, followed by Activate Plugin.

Step 3: Enter License Key

Copy your License Key from your purchase receipt email, paste it into the input, and click the blue Agree & Activate License button.

Step 4: You're ready!

Congratulations! All Pro features (Magnetic Snapping, Hover Text, etc.) are now fully unlocked inside Elementor. Your Pro sidebar menu has now transformed into your Account Dashboard.

How to Use Plugin

A quick 6-step guide to designing your first interactive custom cursor.

1. Create a New Cursor

In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to CursorCraft → Add New Cursor.

2. Set Display Rules

Below the title, find the Cursor Display Rules box. Select where you want this cursor to appear (e.g., globally across the Entire Site, or only when hovering over a Specific CSS Selector).

3. Open Elementor

Click the blue Edit with Elementor button at the very top of the page to open the visual builder.

4. Enable Cursor in Container

Inside Elementor, select your Container. Go to the Advanced Tab, open the Custom Cursor section, and toggle it to Yes.

5. Design & Customize

Build your cursor shape using standard Elementor widgets (like Icons or Images) inside that container. Use the Custom Cursor panel to adjust physics, offsets, blend modes, and hover effects.

6. Publish

Click Update or Publish in Elementor. Your brand-new interactive cursor is now live on your site!

1. Does this slow down my website?

No! The plugin is extremely lightweight and uses GPU-accelerated CSS transforms (translate and scale) alongside requestAnimationFrame for buttery smooth, zero-lag 60fps performance.

2. How do I hide it on mobile and tablets?

In the Elementor editor, go to Container > Advanced > Custom Cursor > Responsive & Accessibility. You can enable “Hide on Touch Devices” and customize the “Disable Below Screen Size (px)” breakpoint (default: 1024px) to automatically hide the custom cursor on smaller screens and touch devices.

3. Can I use any Elementor widget inside my custom cursor?

Yes! You can design your cursor using any Elementor widget — icons, images, headings, animated Lottie files, SVGs, or custom text.

4. How do I target a custom cursor to a specific section?

When editing your cursor, select “Specific CSS Selector” under Display Conditions and enter your target class or ID (e.g. .my-button, .portfolio-card, or #hero). The custom cursor will only activate when hovering over those specific elements.

5. Does CursorCraft require Elementor Pro?

No! CursorCraft works seamlessly with both Elementor Free and Elementor Pro. All core features, physics, and included interactive widgets work directly with the free version of Elementor.

6. Can I create a cursor that changes when hovering over links or buttons?

Yes! You can enable “Enable Hover States” to automatically scale the cursor on interactive elements, or design a dedicated Hover State cursor container that dynamically swaps in on hover.

7. How do I exclude specific elements from triggering the custom cursor?

In the Elementor editor under Container > Advanced > Custom Cursor, enter comma-separated CSS selectors (e.g. .no-cursor, .my-modal, iframe) into the “Exclude Selectors” field. On these elements, the custom cursor will automatically hide.
